I have a propane fueled fireplace?

and the pilot went out....i cannot relight the pilot either by the on or manually with a long match....YES i have propane ~ plenty of it....so i'm thinking that the pilot may not be getting propane like it should...i know that sometimes they can become clogged with dust and such...provided the propane is OFF would it be safe to clean the pilot with canned air to blow out any debris that may be in there?
