What is the BEST city on the Gulf Coast of Florida to Live?

I want to move to Florida, but I don't know where to go. I heard that on the Gulf Coast of Florida Alligators and Crocodiles are less common than on the Atlantic Coast so I want to live on the Gulf Coast. What city do you recommend and is it true about the less gators on the Gulf Coast? Thanks!
