Does anyone honestly believe that gods and goddesses are real?

Surely we must have grown out of that kind of nonsense by now. Only little children and lunatics believe Santa Claus is real, and the same must be true of deities. Therefore anyone who claims to believe in such things must be lying or mentally unbalanced. Agreed?
