Question for non Americans...?

I feel that a lot of Americans are ignorant to the rest of the world , and any scientific progress.They seem to just keep their heads buried in the sand .It is a fact that there are very few really clever Americans across the whole population.Promoting religious fairy stories in this day and age is no longer appropriate.
