I can understand that you feel like you missed out on having a bond with a younger sibling, but you have no idea how many annoying, worrisome, and angering situations you missed out on. I have never personally witnessed a pair of siblings who didn't halfway hate each other. When you have to actually grow up together, there's usually competition, jealousy, fights... So, if you think of siblings as being instant friends, of course you're going to feel like you missed out on something good. If you think about it in a more realistic way, you might be more accepting of having been an only child.

Should I join GROM or SOCOM?

Hi my name's Pat, I'm 14 yrs old but I have an eye on the military in my future because i want a hand in the worlds future but i hate politics and what better way for someone to do that than Special Forces? However I'm torn between the American SOCOM and Polish GROM: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GROM which I consider to be best in the world because my uncle was one of the original 30 members but the problem is that GROM is more of a Black Ops unit and I don't want any sacrifices made by my fellow Polaks (I'm 100% Polish speak fluent polish 2 =D) to be forgotten because GROM is seldom heard of because they're a "Black Ops" unit that use their immense skills to conduct what the U.N. considers to be illegal. SOCOM also takes a lot more unnecessary requirements to get in and the only 1st rate unit is Delta Force which takes 4 years but with GROM i could get in 1-2 yrs. I just wanted some 2nd opinion non-biased by patriotism though please :) All suggestions/opinions are most welcome but keep it clean!

Possible betta fin deterioration?

ive recently added two dwarf gouramis to my tank (i posted a question earlier but didnt get the results i was hoping for) with my betta, gillis, since they have moved his fins have gotten shorter on the bottom and he seems a lot more stressed out than usual. which i know is because of the gouramis (i only bought them out of anticipation of my new 55 gallon :) which gillis is going into promptly anyways my real question is his fins look frayed or bent like an L instead of straight and flowish and his tail fin is shorter than when i first got him i have had him on melafix for the last two weeks and just a few minutes ago i found another piece of fin on the side of the tank. whats going on? 2001 Isuzu Trooper Check Trans light?

My Trooper's Check Trans light came on today, but there is no obvious problem with the transmission. It shifts fine. However, the last couple of days, on occasion when I go from park to drive, it just revs up. However, after I put it back into park and into drive it, it works. I took it back a foreign car mechanic, and he checked it for me and told me he really didn't see any thing wrong with it. I haven't had the SUV very long, and he told me the transmission had been rebuilt recently. Does anyone know what the problem may be? Could it be something electrical or maybe it just needs new fluid?

she used to be so happy and laughing and dancing around the house and just a normal little girl and plays with her dolls and makes up little princess stories. now she is so quite, doesnt move an inch and never really talks anymore. shes like a totally different little girl...shes doing bad in school and does not pay attention during cl like she used to and at recess she just sits against the school building and doesnt play. she is a goregous little girl and "was" very outgoing. she does allstar cheer and dance and she loves practice, when she is at practice that is when she zones out and tumbles her little away and she just seems relieved to be there and she never wants to leave but once she has to leave shes right back to being the sad little girl no one knows anymore. i ask her if something is bothering her and the look she gives me just breaks my heart, its like she wants to tell me something so bad but she just cant let it out her mouth. and i will say baby whats wrong and she will cry and just hold on to me and still never say a word then i will rock her to sleep and she will sleep for hours as if she doesnt sleep when shes at home.i asked her parents..well i said her mom and her new step dad have they seen anything differnt in her like i am seeing and her mom just dont say much all she will say is " oh shes fine dont worry about her" then she walks away but the step dad glares at me and dont say anything and just goes into the room and dont come out until i leave. so i asked her is she scared to be home for any reason and she didnt say anything,she just looked at me once again with that sad face. I told her to draw me a picture and she did, she drew her house and she blacked out her bedroom window, like she colored only her window completely black and no other ones and i asked her why was her window colored back and she just shrugged her sholders and put her head done and didnt want to color anymore. i dont know what to do.. she is my baby girl and i hate seeing her like this...its been about 2 mouths with this new behavior. what in the world do you think is going on with her? she is 7

Ok, i recently downloaded doku's mod for left 4 dead about 1 week ago, and when i decided i didnt like it, i open the restore file, so it restored everything, now it says that my oxygen tank, propane tank, and gascan are modded when i try to join local game servers. Yeah so my dad is a huge fan of Iron Chef America, and they always make ice cream out of like veal and oysters and stuff. So for fathers day (yes I know it has already ped, but we couldn't find one) we are going to get him one. Is this a good beginning to a memoir?

I like it - it's vivid and starts with action right off the bat. Occasionally the shifts in verb tense from the past to the present is awkward, and it takes the reader out of the story a little. I'd keep it all past. For example, instead of "...I followed her up the sidewalk to our house. The only image that still comes to mind is the sheer emptiness. The yard that usually sported a minimum..." I'd keep the middle bit to the past as well; something like "I almost couldn't recognize it for the sheer emptiness."

Why does my ac only blow hot air?

just turn your a/c on high and as cold as it can go. look at the compressor see if it engages... note it will turn with the belt but there is a clutch you should be able to see the difference on the front of it when it turns and when its not. make sure its turning not just the pulley turning from the belt. and then check the lines. ur a/c lines should start to get very cold or atleast some what cold. if they do not then it may need more freon. some times you can have just enough freon to have the compressor to run or cycleing off and on yet its not enough to get cool or for you to feel it. so you have to add more. even the walmart diy gages and all that will give a reading that its full when its not. if u check it when engine is off then it will say its full cause its not flowing through the system. if u check it with the compressor on like your suppose to then it should give a lower reading unless it doesnt have anough freon in it to push through the system so those diy walmart gages are junk. they dont tell u much. id say try adding another can of freon to it with the compressor running. it has to be running when u add freon. it has to have enough in it for the compressor to move it around and it has to have enough in it to work right or compressor may cycle on and off but thats not always the case. just attempt to add a lil more to it and check to be sure the compressor is turning when u turn it on. id say its still too low to be honest if it holds a charge not leaking then id bet all money on its still low. those gauges always lie cause it depends on if the freon is moving or sitting cause it is just measuring the psi pressure so if its not moving and not much in the system it will give higher false readings. and as i said if there isnt enough the compressor cant move it but also the compressor has to be working and turning on as well. engine must be running when u add and check it.

What are some reasons for why this is happening?

My period is late about 4 days and I'm not sure what to do. I have had my period for a really long time (about 10 years!) so its not like I just got it and my body is still getting used to it. My cycles are usually pretty regular but once in 2 years may change. The last time my period changed was last August and I ended up getting it 2 weeks early. It had been arriving steadily ever since. Usually before my period I would get cramps and about a day before the cramps would be really bad. Now I don't really have any cramps and if I do, they are only slight causing a slight uncomfortable feeling and then they go away. Could I be pregnant? I have not been stressed and I am not on any medication. However ever since school ended I have been sleeping rather irregularly. I go to bed really late and wake up late but in total get an average of about 5-6 hours of sleep a night. I also feel really moody and irritated. My weight has not changed (gain/loss) so I don't think it is because of that. I also had sore thighs today and felt very dizzy (saw spots) for about 5 minutes. Please help. Thank you.

I've been looking into the air force recently and have been interested in quite a few jobs. First I was looking at imagery ysis, where are they usually based and would that lead to a career in the CIA, NSA or FBI? Also what MOS's work in the space program, that would be awesome. I feel completely helpless. Natural gas companies cannot turn you off in the cold, but propane companies can leave you without heat? I still owe from the last partial fill, and I now am out of propane again! I'm sorry, but over $400 a month is too much! And - it's saturday, which means they are closed. One company advertises monthly payments on their website, but since we own our tank, they said we weren't eligible! I am so fed up and want to give up. only about 10 -12% of the total applicants in your GPA range get accepted into the UW, but to make up for your GPA, do REALLY well on the SATs and have a REALLY good "personal statement" when you apply. It also really helps that you've done all those extracurriculars and are taking those IB courses. You may have an advantage since you have family members who are alumnis of the UW, but that advantage only applies if you are from out of state. Also i dont think they are gonna hold it against you for getting that 1 D, its ur ulative that counts and how difficult ur courseload is...which you have gotten down.

My female cat constantly licks and scratches her fur. The fur on her tail is nearly bald and she has a lot of sores on her, so we are a bit reluctant to use a flea spray/powder. She sits on the edge of the bath, kitchen work top, tumble dryer, plastic bags and boxes. She runs like crazy over the lounge carpet to get to the window sill or sofa etc. We have sprayed the house with a strong flea killing spray and we always make sure that we hoover and keep the house clean. I am not sure what the GF and the cat have to do with your sickness but I would rather guess you either have a stomach ulcer.. or gastritis... or maybe a hiatus hernia.. that is between your stomach and your diaphragm..which is just below the food pipe ... the esphagus.. if you got a hernia.. then sometimes a part of your stomach can come up through the valve into your chest cavity..it is not serious but it can be very painful and it causes heartburn and can cause burning chest pain as well.. an ulcer would cause pain or sickness and so would gastritis.. you should ask your doctor to give you a gastroscopy.. that means a small pipe...is inserted into your mouth..you are not allowed to eat or drink anything for 8 hours before the procedure.. then this pipe is put in your mouth and down into your esophagus..(food pipe and on into your stomach..and a little camera is attached to all this so the doctor who does the gastroscopy can look right into your stomach and esophagus and he will find if there is an inflammation or if you have a hernia.. it is not painful at all.. it only feels a bit uncomfortable.. as it is hard to swallow with that pipe in your mouth.. you can breathe just fine.. only if you swallow it hurts.. that is why he will spray something on your tongue before he starts to reduce the swallowing which is an involuntary action same as blinking but that stops salivar aculating and you need to swallow less often. if he finds nothing the whole procedure is over in 10 minutes. and you can go home.. and you know then if you have any stomach problems or not.. if you have an ulcer or gastritis you have to avoic spicy foods ... that will make it worse and most people who got that will lose weight.. xxx

My mom has torn my family apart and I just don't know how to react?

It all began with her iPhone. Me and my sister found out that she has a secret Facebook page where she was basically acting really promiscuous and talking to multiple men and arranged a secret meeting to meet one of them in Vegas. She left her Facebook open accidentally and we found it, and told our dad. Since then it has been this whole roller coaster, and she has yet to stop using her phone. Now she is moving out, and we got in a huge fight yesterday because she wanted to go to some convention to meet up with more online friends today. Now I feel guilty because I said things I wouldn't have said if I had thought it through. It is hard for me to explain the whole situation, but I just don't know what to do because she is hurting our whole family and I feel so angry and hurt by that, but I don't want to ruin our relationship forever. You can always just take some peanut er or cheese cracker things with you. Those are always easy to snack on. You could maybe even make your own trail mix so that it has everything you like in it and take a bag of that to eat on during the day. And since you play sports, that could even last you throughout practice in case you had any time to eat some of it during practice. You could take power bars or just try a food supplement bar if you are going to be in a hurry someday. I wouldn't really suggest those, because I don't like those, but you might find you do! What is "under the hood" on my Sony Blu Ray player?

I have a first gen Sony Blu Ray player and was curious about the kind of hardware it takes to play 1080P high definition video (MSRP at the time my friend bought it (and then gave it to me) was $399.). My laptop also has a BD drive, and plays them at a downconverted 1440 x 900 on a 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 duo with no problems whatsoever, and considering that that only takes up maybe not even a full core's processing speed during playback, I'm guessing that the processor on the device can't be more than a single-core of no greater than 2.0 GHz (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen BD takes nearly 3 minutes to load to the menu UI, and even a standard DVD takes up to two before I'm at the menu), but I'd really like to know if anyone knows what exactly the hardware is that plays my BD's. What exactly's going on "under the hood"? Also, I realize that everything on one of these in integrated, and that an integrated chipset can't really be equated to a tower of any kind, but do these things actually have a GPU of any kind, or are all operations on a Blu Ray player entirely CPU driven? I could probably think up a crapload more questions to ask, but I guess I'd be satisfied in just knowing how my BluRay player works and what's doing it. And even more satisfied knowing the specifications of my utterly snail-speed BluRay system.

& 6 1/2 months pregnant?

What harm can just a "little" black mold do?

Before I moved into my apartment a year and a half ago, I looked around and noticed that in the bathroom above the shower/tub, there was a line of spotted black mold growing, and even some on the sides of the walls. Well, I moved in and was "told" it was taken care of. Now, just a few months ago, it reappeared in the same places! My six year old son and I have both been getting red colored skin, that comes and goes. I've gotten a few rashes here and there. The tops of his hands, mainly below his knuckles on the "fatty" part are a light red and his cheeks and chin on his face have now a red tint. And now between the both of us, we are getting red colored, irritated eyes. The only parts of our eyes that are red is just the main front part where the eye is open. When I raise and lower our lids, the rest of our eyeball is white. Had him to the doc today but didn't get much of a response. I was wondering if these could be from the mold, or do you guys have any other suggestions of what it may be?

Mysterious Blackjack II data usage charges?

I have an AT&T BlackJack II that I got about two months ago. I have never used the internet on it. No eMail either. I do use AIM though. Last month, the data usage charge was $125! The only thing I can think of that might cause that is me accidentally pressing the internet on a few times. But when that happens, I close out of it quickly. Does anyone have an idea about what might have caused this? I don't think it's AIM, because the IM's are through text messaging.But it could be. I don't know... help?

No, I really don't blame you for feeling the way you do. Just because she has worked out a plan to stay there in that town and in that house does not mean that you or her will be happy there. My daughter threw out her pacifier at 2 months old, at first i was happy- i thought Great! i wont have to deal with trying to take it away from her, but at 4 months she started sucking her thumb. i am a 16 year old girl and about a year ago(when i started dancing) i noticed these 3 little redish-purple lines on one of my inner thighs. i thought nothing of it and just kept dancing and stretching everyday. pretty soon it turned into at least 20 redish-purple lines on both of my thighs!! and now ive been noticing them on my hips and too!! its sooo gross!!! so im pretty sure they are stretch marks. i was wondering if maybe stretching and dancing everyday was what caused them? because thats when i first started noticing them. but then i stopped dancing(not because of the stretch marks) so i gained 10-15 pounds and thats when they got even worse!! so did the weight gain or the dancing cause them? also how do i get rid of them?? i have been using palmers lotion for the past 2months and its not working!!!

I have a month old son with my best friend of 13 years .. I am 30 divorced and NEVER wanted this to happen. I know this is a very big push but it is possible. The Raiders last year were extremely bad in run defense, they got McClain and Houston to stop the run. They got Jason Campbell from the Redskins which is an extremely big upgrade from Russel. I think the Raiders can win 8-9 games next season if they have no big injuries. they have an easier schedule and their division is very weak. OK, so I've gone through and did "The Ark", I red ALL THE WAY THROUGH the three terminals on that level, I mean I actually sat there and read them until it didn't go any further, even after the screen turns red. I waited until the little arrow turned red. Then I finished the level after getting all three of them. The I did the EXACT same thing for "The Covenant" and "Halo" AND NO ACHIEVEMENT!!!! Drifting apart from my train-wreck of a friend?

I actually had this problem in high school, but to a lesser extent. My friend stopped caring about school and started doing drugs. What I was taught was to stop hanging out with that person so they know that you disapprove. This didn't work. Then I decided to just make an effort to hang out with him as much as possible just to get him away from that life. Eventually, he quit drugs and started working more on school (slightly). All it takes is a little effort on your part. Hang out with him as much as possible but with the ground rules of no drinking and no drugs. Be persistent. Make it more entertaining to be with you than drinking and doing drugs.
