How important is New Years Eve to you?

How important and symbolic is it to do something you enjoy on New Years Eve? Do you believe that if you have a fun or nice New years, you will have a good year, and vice versa, if you have do something that isn't fun, that you will have a bad year? Do you have any examples of this? It is important to me. What are your thoughts on this?
